About

GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring copper-binding tripeptide that may support hair follicle health through wound healing and tissue remodeling pathways. In vitro studies suggest GHK-Cu can increase hair follicle size, stimulate proliferation of follicular cells, and extend the anagen growth phase. Clinical evidence is still emerging.

How It Works

GHK-Cu stimulates dermal papilla cells, upregulates growth factors (VEGF, FGF), promotes ECM remodeling, and enhances follicle blood supply.

Side Effects

  • Scalp irritation or redness with topical use
  • Skin sensitivity in some individuals
  • Copper toxicity risk if ingested orally in large amounts

Drug & Supplement Interactions

  • Other topical actives (minoxidil — may affect absorption timing)
  • Zinc supplements (zinc and copper compete for absorption if taken orally)
  • Chelating agents (may bind copper and reduce efficacy)
